15 Aug 2023, John Fahy reports. At the 2023 AGM of the league, presentations were made to South Birmingham, the winning team in Division 2. Runners-up were Oscott. Kidderminster won Division 3 and runners up were Longbridge. No matches were played in Division 1.
7 Jul 2023. Manvith Sandhu (Halesowen) won the BH Wood prize for the best gme of the year in BDCL.
1 June 2023. Wolverhampton have ceded their last match against Oscott in Div 2. South Birmingham are top of Division 2.
25 May 2023. Kidderminster top Division 3 table on game points from Longbridge.
18 May 2023. Warley
spoil their chances in Division 3 with a defaulted board in the match against against Longbridge.
29 Mar 2023. Kynoch win Division 4 of Birmingham & District league with Shirley and Wythall ending runners-up.

Oscott beat Mercia in the first match of Division 2.
21 Sep 2022. In a shock move Longbridge decided they could not play in Division 1 because the club had too many fixtures. This Withdrawal means that there will be no play in Division 1 this season.
7 Sep 2022. First match result in new season. In Division 3, Longbridge beat Stourbridge 2½-1½.
21 Sep 2022. Longbridge withdrew from Division 1 because they had too many fixtures.
11 Aug 2022. League meeting. The annual meeting at the Stag and Three Horseshoes (Warley Quinborne venue) re-elected Paul Sharratt as President and John Fahy as Secretary. Longbridge’s application to enter the league was agreed. The meeting fixed rating limits of u2000 for Division 1, u1800 for Division 2, and u1600 for Division 3. Longbridge would play Warley Quinborne in four matches to determine the League Championship. In the other divisions, teams will play home and away. Mercia, Oscott, South Birmingham and Wolverhampton play in Division 2; and Kidderminster, Kynoch, Longbridge, Stourbridge and Warley Quinborne in Division 3.
Division 2
6 Jun 2023. The final fixture was not played because neither team could overtake South Birmingham.
17 Apr 2023. South Birmingham make sure of first place with a draw against Oscott
11 Aug 2022. The rating limit for this Division was under 1800. Four teams entered: Mercia, Oscott South Birmingham and Wolverhampton. They played each other twice during the season.

16 Feb 2023. Warley and Kidderminster drew, both edging closer to leaders Longbridge and setting up exciting matches for the league championship in the next few weeks.
